During his participation in the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded state awards to military personnel, energy workers, cultural figures, representatives of local government, business and the diaspora.

“Thank you to all our people. You are all heroes – our soldiers, our citizens. I thank everyone – each and every one,” said the head of state.

Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Order of the Golden Star to two Heroes of Ukraine. Thus, the highest rank was awarded to sergeant Viktor Ilchun, who in Zaporizhzhia blew up a section of the railway track, due to which an armored train of Russian troops derailed. Then a Russian Mi-8 helicopter arrived at the scene, which was destroyed along with its personnel.

In addition, Victor Ilchun blew up the car “Ural”, in which 11 invaders died, and in Kharkiv region – a car with a local collaborator, Gauleiter Yevhen Yunakov.

The highest rank was awarded to the colonel of the medical service Viktor Ivchuk. He headed the 555th military hospital and ensured its security and defense, as well as round-the-clock provision of assistance to the wounded and the work of brigades in Mariupol. Thanks to Viktor Ivchuk’s leadership, it was possible to save hundreds of military and civilian lives, including children.

The head of state also awarded the “Cross of Combat Merit” to senior sergeant Dmytro Kord, who, as part of a combined tactical group, crossed the Dnipro and performed combat missions in Krynk. He was wounded in one of the battles, but continued to perform combat tasks, and after receiving the command to evacuate, he covered more than 2 kilometers on foot with an injured leg, forded two rivers.

Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the soldiers with the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi 1st and 3rd degrees, “For Courage” 1st and 3rd degrees, Princess Olga 3rd degree and Danylo Halytskyi.

To representatives of other professions, the head of state presented the orders “For Merit” of the III degree, “For Courage” of the III degree, Princess Olga of the III degree and medals, as well as awarded the honorary titles of “People’s Artist of Ukraine”, “Honored Artist of Ukraine”, “Honored Teacher of Ukraine” and “Honored Healthcare Worker of Ukraine”.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored 857 defenders of Ukraine with state awards. At the same time, 472 of them were posthumous.

On Tank Troops Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored 48 defenders of Ukraine with state awards.

Also, during the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded her with the Order of Yaroslav the Wise “For Merit”.
