The Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue to receive data from intelligence satellites alternative ways after the United States has stopped providing them, Economic Truth reports, citing sources.
The unnamed interlocutor said some units of the Armed Forces had access to a special geospatial intelligence service, through which the Ukrainian command ordered satellite images in several private companies in the US and Europe.
It is noted that this service was allowed quickly, free of charge and in the right amount to receive pictures and exchange them between units.
However, on Thursday, February 6, one of the users was unable to log in to the account of this service because “the account was suspended at the request of the administration.” The transfer of satellite intelligence with other channels is probably also suspended.
According to the EP, the Armed Forces have alternative ways of obtaining satellite data from US and European private companies on a commercial basis.
“The pictures are expensive, but you can buy them. A black and white shot of 25 × 25 kilometers in not the best resolution of 50 centimeters per pixel costs $ 350. There are many thousands of troops completely different, ”one of the interlocutors of the edition said.
A representative of one of the units that plans operations in the depths of Russia confirmed information about the availability of alternative ways of obtaining satellite photos.
The sources of the EP stressed that Americans restricted the provision of reconnaissance data related to long -range blows to Ukraine before Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election.
That is why Ukrainian servicemen have long begun to look for alternative ways to obtain the necessary pictures from the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as to build bilateral relations with space companies.
The publication stressed that the United States significantly limited access to a convenient system of receiving and exchanging intelligence, but it remains the opportunity to rebuild it.
“The consequences of this story are noticeable, but we will understand the scale later,” the EP interlocutor added.
On March 3, US President Donald Trump made a decision to terminate military assistance to Ukraine after the altercation with President Vladimir Zelensky in the White House. Washington noted that partners should “divide Trump’s desire for peace.” According to Bloomberg, the stop concerns all US military equipment, including weapons transported by aircraft and ships and which is in transit zones in Poland.
On March 5, the Financial Times, with reference to officials, wrote that the United States was stopping the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine as part of the termination of military assistance. Later in the Central Intelligence Administration (CIA) confirmed that the United States has suspended assistance to Ukraine and data transmission.
On March 6, French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorton said his country could transfer Ukraine to Ukraine on the background of pauses by the United States. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov instead stated that Ukraine is currently working on an alternative after banning data from the United States.
On March 7, the military reported that the US Aerospace Company Maxar Technologies closed Ukraine with access to its satellite images by stopping the Trump Trump Aid Administration of Kiev.
