The session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will vote for the resolution on the need to hold the Russian Federation for aggression against Ukraine.

This was reported by a member of a permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to PACE Yevgeny Kravchuk on his Facebook page.

The vote on the resolution will take place on April 9.

“PACE Spring Session has officially started! Approved the order of the week. An important resolution will be adopted on Wednesday – as a result of debate under the urgent procedure” Russia’s Aggression Against Ukraine: Need to Hold on Harness Impunity), “Kravchuk wrote.

According to Kravchuk, the resolution will cover the creation of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression, the international mechanism of compensation and prosecution for war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

“The aggressor should know that the crimes will have to be answered – both politically and legally and financially. Otherwise, the repetition will be only a matter of time,” the People’s Deputy emphasized.

It should be reminded that in January the PACE voted for a resolution on sustainable and just peace in Ukraine. The document confirms the principle of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine”, supports the formula “peace through force” and for the first time recognizes that China is a decisive factor that contributes to the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

PACE believes that the so -called presidential “elections” in Belarus of January 26, 2025 do not meet international standards, and therefore there is no reason to recognize Alexander Lukashenko’s legitimacy as President of Belarus.
