The Kyiv District Court of Odesa has sentenced the driver of the car of a military man who worked for the Russians to death. He received a year of probation.
This is stated in the judgment of the Kyiv Odesa District Court, adopted on September 20.
According to the case, on July 24, 2024, the boy and an accomplice, whose identity has not been established, photographed a military car and, after agreeing on the chosen target with the curator, set it on fire. The perpetrators sent a video report of the crime to the customer, whose identity has not yet been established.
The boys were promised money for destroying a serviceman’s car.
It is also noted in the case materials that the arsonist has the status of a child who suffered as a result of hostilities and armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and his father is a participant in hostilities. The defendant contributed to solving the crime and bought a burned-out car from the victim. The boy also made a monetary donation to the Armed Forces.
In view of cooperation with the investigation and remorse of the committed boy, the sentence of imprisonment for 5 years was canceled, replacing it with a probationary period for 1 year.
“According to the approved plea agreement, find him guilty of the criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and sentence him to imprisonment for a term of 5 years. On the basis of Art. 75 of the Criminal Code to release the accused from serving a sentence with a probationary period of 1 year,” the court’s decision reads.
During this period, the applicant must periodically appear for registration with the authorized body on probation issues, as well as report on a change of place of residence, work or study. The boy also paid more than 15 thousand hryvnias for the examination.
We will also remind that three collaborators were detained in the Donetsk region, who set fire to the cars of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the order of the Russian special services.
In the Darnytsky district of Kyiv, two residents of the capital were notified of suspicion of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period (Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
