Ukrainian children in the temporarily occupied territories are not able to study under the Ukrainian program, as they or their parents can be punished for this. In some cases, Russian invaders isolate children and forcibly give them psychotropic drugs for disobedience.
About it in an interview “ Interfax-Ukraine »The adviser-authorized President for the Rights of the Child and Children’s Rehabilitation Darya Gerasimchuk told.
According to her, children are forbidden to speak Ukrainian or study Ukrainian literature. With the smallest manifestations of national identity, they may undergo physical violence, isolation or forced medication.
“It is really difficult for children in such conditions. They have no right to speak Ukrainian, and even more so – to learn Ukrainian and literature. They know that they can be punished for themselves or their parents will be injured. Often, for such disobedience, children are beaten, isolated, forcibly given psychotropic drugs – I know about such cases in person, ”Gerasimchuk said.
She stressed that children from the occupied territories were not able to report their rights, because the invaders deprive them of any means of communication. If a child has access to the Internet, he or she can turn to the Kids War portal and tell about the experience. This allows the Ukrainian side to record crimes and assist.
In total, Ukraine has already returned 1625 children with Russian Federation and temporarily occupied territories.
International Return Coalition Ukrainian children called Russian Federation immediately and without No conditions to return the stolen children. The joint statement was signed by 38 countries, the Council of Europe and the European Union.
