During 2025, Ukrainian border guards, together with law enforcement officers, exposed 420 organized groups that smuggled men out of the country illegally for money.
The spokesman of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko reported on such scale of illegal activity during a briefing on the fight against illegal border crossing channels.
According to him, only in October, another 28 groups were liquidated that specialized in illegally transporting Ukrainians of draft age outside the state.
The exposed structures included both route organizers and guides who promised clients a “guaranteed” trip abroad for considerable sums.
They looked for willing people on social networks, through acquaintances or closed chats, offering full support — from forged documents to dangerous paths through the green border area.
Demchenko emphasized that law enforcement officers document each such scheme in order to bring to justice not only the executors, but also the organizers, who profit from people’s desire to avoid wartime restrictions.
