During this year’s national multi -grade test (NMT) there was a curious case that surprised even experienced organizers.
The incident was reported by the director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEA) Tatiana Vakulenko on the air of the telecast, emphasizing that this situation raises serious questions about the level of basic knowledge of graduates and the effectiveness of school education.
One of the participants tried to use the cheat sheet, but its content was unexpected – it was a regular multiplication table.
Vakulenko noted that the number of violators of testing rules remains small, as in previous years. However, the case of the multiplication table forced the organizers to think about whether all participants have mastered the elementary skills necessary for successful testing.
She stressed: “If the entrant or entrant are not able to accomplish the task of the fifth to sixth-seven classes, then probably with higher education it is worth waiting for something.”
The UCEA Director also denied rumors about the excessive complexity of NMT in mathematics. According to her, to overcome the threshold of the level of the seventh grade.
At the same time, she emphasized that the main problem is not the complexity of the test, but the lack of basic knowledge in some graduates.
This year’s NMT results remain valid for joining higher education institutions together with the results of previous years – 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. The test format may change in the future, but now the duration and structure remain unchanged.
At the same time, the organizers take into account the difficulties for entrants from the front and occupied territories, so they try not to complicate access to education.
It should be added that among this year’s participants there are those who showed brilliant results.
Thus, the student of Dniprovsky Lyceum No. 139 Elizabeth Okpokoro took a test for a maximum of 200 points in three subjects – Ukrainian language, mathematics and history of Ukraine.
We will remind, participants of the national multi -grade test (NMT) will see preliminary results for each of the four subjects immediately after its completion. But this is only the first stage of determining the final points.
