A bail of 40 million hryvnias for Dmytro Basov, a figure in the “Midas” case, was posted by a newly established Kyiv company and the suspect’s lawyers. A 25 million hryvnias deposit was made by the private company Green Plus Company, registered in Kyiv two months ago. Its main profile is wholesale trade in wood, building materials and sanitary equipment.
Journalists note that the company’s number was answered by a woman who said that she did not know either the company or its management. The director of the firm Maryna Shevchenko rejected several calls from journalists. Another 10,300,000 hryvnias was deposited by Dmytro Basov’s lawyer, Vitaly Naum, and 4,700,000 by the “National Bar Association”, headed by Naum.
The lawyer explained to journalists that this is a common practice: “All the confirmations are there, the bank has been provided with all the relevant documents. The bank checked the origin of the funds and confirmed it. These are our personal funds from profits, after paying taxes, we work “in the white”. And that’s all. We wanted Dmytro Mykolayovych to celebrate Christmas with his family, so it happened, he went out yesterday.”
