The new international train #99/100 Kyiv – Bucharest, which was launched by “Ukrzaliznytsia”, is in stable demand among passengers.
More than 2,100 tickets have already been sold two weeks after the start of the service, the company’s press service reported.
“During the first week, the train carried almost 800 passengers. Most often, Ukrainians traveled from Vinnytsia to Bucharest,” Ukrzaliznytsia noted.
The route is convenient for those flying abroad: the train stops near two international airports in Romania — in Iasi and Bucharest. It is convenient for passengers to catch night flights in Iasi, and morning flights in Bucharest, which are easily connected by public transport.
Also, from the central station of Bucharest Gara de Nord you can change trains to Burgas, Sofia and Istanbul.
The duration of customs control between Ukraine and Moldova is about one hour, and between Moldova and Romania – one and a half hours.
The Russian army continues to “hunt” for the rolling stock of Ukrzaliznytsia, so train routes will be revised in the front-line regions.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia is launching a number of additional regional trains to and from Vorokhta in October to ensure passengers can comfortably reach the Carpathians in the autumn without using a car.
