Fuel oil, which ended up in the Black Sea due to the accident of Russian tankers, can reach the territories controlled by Ukraine. It is about the coast of Odesa and Mykolaiv.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of the telethon.

“The current is arranged in such a way that, most likely, it (fuel oil from Russian tankers, – ed.) can reach our Odesa and Mykolaiv coasts. There is such a possibility, of course,” said the spokesman.

He emphasized that Ukraine does not affect civilian vessels in a military sense, so the Russians continue to use the Kerch Strait for their needs.

“We do not affect civil shipping, in the sense of fire damage, because Ukraine is a civilized country. Accordingly, this is how they continue overloading, they have little choice. They perfectly understand that, without exporting oil and without receiving income, it will be even more difficult for them to wage this war,” Pletenchuk added.

It will be recalled that on December 15, two Russian oil tankers, Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239, sank near the coast in the Kerch Strait. As a result of the accident, more than 4,000 tons of water spilled into the Black Sea. tons of fuel oil.
