Chief of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhivskyi, said this in an interview with “Ukrainian News”.
“Out of 1,050 murders (committed in 2024 – ed.), this year only 9 remained unsolved and there is a prospect for them. The contract killings that took place last year have all been solved. This is the work of every police officer – investigators, operatives, analysts and those who work on the street. It gives its result,” said Vyhivskyi.
Answering the question of what has been done and what successes the National Police has achieved in 2024, the head of the National Police noted that their main positive result is that currently in Ukrainian cities and villages that are not close to the front line, people feel relatively safe.
“Relatively, because enemy missiles and UAVs can reach any corner of our country. Regarding the activities of the National Police, we do not have a tendency to increase street crime, violations of public order. We see a steady trend towards a significant decrease in the number of robberies, robberies, and hooliganism,” he informed.
Vyhivskyi said that 306 robberies were committed last year, which is much less than in previous years.
“We solved 95% of robberies and 98% of robberies. This is the titanic work of a large number of police officers, those who work in patrols and those who we do not notice on the street, who work as detectives and every day “hot leads” solve crimes. These are about 20,000 policemen who go on duty every day specifically to protect public safety and order on the streets of cities,” the head of the National Police Service noted.
According to him, thanks to this, the overall registration of crimes also decreased.
