The police of the Ternopil region detained a group of servicemen who are suspected of committing violent and property crimes. According to the police, the military illegally deprived people of their freedom, used physical violence against them, tortured them, demanded money and confiscated property. The perpetrators took the victims out of the city, where they were abused, in particular, people who were seriously injured in the war and were undergoing rehabilitation.

Among the recorded crimes:

  • The suspects took a KIA car from a 27-year-old resident of Ternopil, which was later found in the Kyiv region.

  • An active serviceman who was being treated was forcibly put into a minibus, taken away, beaten, threatened with a weapon and demanded 50,000 hryvnias for his release.

  • Another resident of Ternopil was taken outside the city after using tear gas, stripped, doused with a flammable substance and forced to run in front of a car, after which he was beaten and held for three days in inhumane conditions.

A large-scale special operation to stop the criminal activities of military personnel was carried out by Ternopil policemen, soldiers of the special purpose police company with the support of KORD special units from four regions of Ukraine.

The police of the Ternopil region, together with special forces and KORD units, detained 7 servicemen who are suspected of committing violent and property crimes.

Before that, the Ternopil Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support (TCC and SP) reported that from now on, mobilization processes are carried out with the involvement of combat units, and the notification of conscripts in restaurants and night clubs “does not contradict the law.”

Earlier Mrlaw enforcement officers exposed the head of the military medical commission of the TCC and SP in Ternopil for corruption.
