Oleksandr Musienko, head of the Center for Military and Legal Research, announced his own forecast on the air of Radio NV regarding the battle with the Russians for Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.
“Pokrovsk is in danger of falling from October. In the end, we understand very well that active hostilities continue there, but the most pessimistic forecasts did not come true. I would like to remind you that the predictions, in particular of our NATO partners, were that in the second half of September there were to be local battles for Pokrovsk. What is happening now in Kurakhovo should have already happened in Pokrovsk in September. This did not happen,” said Musienko.
This means, according to him, that Ukraine is restraining the enemy, and at this time Russia is suffering losses.

“Therefore, taking into account how it is possible to stop the advance of the enemy on the flanks in the Pokrovsk region, I would venture to assume that this battle for Pokrovsk may not take place at all this year. Let’s see how Russia will fully enter the campaign from next year – after Kurakhovo. From now on, it will be possible to predict what can await Pokrovsky [напрямок] and in general the front in this section,” Musienko predicted.
The Kurakhiv and Pokrovsky directions remain the most difficult on the front, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted on December 3.
