First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov reported on the critical situation with energy supply in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Odesa regions after today’s attack by Russian troops.
During a televised speech, the official emphasized that the enemy had struck the objects of electricity generation, distribution and transmission in several regions of Ukraine.
As a result of massive shelling, thousands of Ukrainians were left without electricity.
According to Nekrasov, the situation was particularly difficult in Chernihiv Oblast, where the Russian occupiers repeatedly attacked several energy facilities. About 140,000 consumers remain without power due to infrastructure damage.
Restoration work in the region is greatly complicated by constant attacks by Russian drones, which do not stop even during repair work.
The Deputy Minister of Energy assured that energy workers have already started restoration work on damaged objects in all affected regions. Specialists work around the clock to restore power to the population as soon as possible.
The situation remains difficult due to the scale of destruction of the energy infrastructure.
We will remind, heating points were deployed in Kyiv due to a power outage.
Several high-rise buildings were also damaged in Kyiv during a recent night attack by Russian troops.
