Ukraine has a positive attitude to the decision of US President-elect Donald Trump to appoint Keith Kellogg as the future special representative for Ukraine.

This was announced at the briefing by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhiy, writes RBC-Ukraine.

“As for General Kellogg, we welcome his nomination for this important mission,” Tykhi said.

He clarified that Kellogg is not a “new person” for Ukraine. The Ukrainian Embassy in the USA maintained close contact with him, including within the framework of expert diplomacy. A good dialogue continues with the general.

Ukrainian delegations also met with Kellogg several times. In particular, he was among the special guests at the speech of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi at the Reagan Institute during the July visit of the head of state to the United States.

“Of course, we are looking forward to working with him, even more actively. We look forward to working with him in his new role. We will cooperate, we will establish contact with him,” said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, retired General Keith Kellogg, who was nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump to the post of special envoy for the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war, said that he would “work tirelessly to ensure peace through force”.

It is worth noting that earlier, the future national security adviser of the president-elect Donald Trump, Mike Waltz, said that in recent days he studied several proposals to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Including the proposal of General Keith Kellogg, whom Trump announced as his candidate for the post of special envoy to these countries.
