The main reason for hourly power outages in Ukraine is Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. It is difficult to predict the future situation, since everything depends on the intensity of Russia’s actions and the effectiveness of Ukrainian defense and recovery mechanisms.

Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak announced this on Novyny.Live.

The deputy minister emphasized that the shutdown schedules are determined solely by the situation in the power system.

“It would be ungrateful to predict now what will happen next – everything depends on how intensively Russian weapons will work, how effectively our defense mechanisms will work and whether recovery equipment will be available,” Andarak said.

He added that dispatchers take into account the social load and do everything possible to keep the duration of outages to a minimum, trying to make “these inconveniences last only a few hours and be as short as possible.”

It will be recalled that “Ukrenergo” gave a forecast for a shutdown in the winter.

Ukrenergo also warned about blackouts in some regions.
