“The updated sleeping bag has several key improvements. In particular, it is lighter, has a water-repellent cover and is comfortable to use at any temperature. The weight has become less compared to the previous model and should not exceed 3.8 kg,” Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov said.
The previous version of the sleeping bag was single-layer. Instead, the new version consists of three parts: an inner sleeping bag, a liner and an outer water-repellent cover.
The Ministry of Defense explained that the liner protects the sleeping bag from the inside from dirt and natural moisture of the body, and the outer water-repellent and vapor-permeable cover helps the soldier protect himself from rain, snow, fog or wind.
In addition, the modular system of the new sleeping bag allows you to use it in different temperature conditions. For example, indoors, a soldier can sleep only in an inner bag, and outside – in a full set. Also, the new sleeping system provides high vapor permeability and retains heat.
“Thanks to the compression bag of the new model, the sleeping bag can be additionally pulled down and attached to the backpack together with the field mat,” the Ministry added.
It was previously reported that the state operator of the rear will direct UAH 2.2 billion saved in state procurement to the purchase of an additional amount of body armor, helmets and tactical headphones for the Armed Forces.
Recently, the Ministry of Defense received a list of candidates for the positions of independent members of the supervisory board of the State Rear Operator (DOT). Among them are three citizens of Ukraine and applicants from Great Britain, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
The state operator of the rear (procurement organization of the Ministry of Defense) presented a new model of food supply for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a pilot project, it will be operational in several regions of Ukraine as early as 2025
