The Ministry of Defense has developed a new rotation mechanism on the front. In the department they want to give the military “several months of rest” after “90 days of continuous service and participation in hostilities.”

The People’s Deputy of Ukraine (the Servant of the People), a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Fedir Venislavsky told about it on Radio Svoboda.

The new mechanism can be an alternative to the law on demobilization.

“This is just the mechanism that the Minister of Defense, developed in his address, developed a rotation mechanism: after 90 days of participation directly in hostilities, a person has the right to rest, again, for several months. This is an alternative to the release or setting of a clear service life … Mr. Umerov says that these recommendations have already been developed, we will expect, ”the deputy said.

At the level of the law, it is “impossible to regulate”, and therefore most likely it will be “by-laws, directives of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces”, he said.

“It should be a directive: either the decision of the rate or the order of the commander -in -chief … because at the level of the law we cannot take into account the peculiarities of hostilities when the number of people can be released,” the deputy said.

Venislavsky added that the law on clear service life has already been developed, but he does not see the possibilities at this time for its adoption.

“Today, literally addressed to the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, the relevant information under the signature of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov has been signed, which noted that the bill was relevant. It provides for different options for dismissal from military service after 36, 12 or 18 months of continuous service in the war zone or direct participation in hostilities. But there is a position of the General Staff, there is a real situation on the front. And in conditions where Russia is trying to press in different directions, the adoption of such a law will simultaneously lead to the release of a very large number of people, which will lead to very negative consequences. Therefore, at the moment we will say that we will receive this bill, and it will be voted, as I have repeatedly told you, too optimistic, ”Venislavsky explained.

We will remind, as before, in 2025, some conscripts will not be subject to conscription because of their social status, health or work in critical areas. To obtain status, you need to provide a number of documents.

Currently, only men aged 25 years of age can call for military service under Ukrainian law, and there are exceptions that restrict the call of persons to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

And recently, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading of the bill No. 12442, which provides for the introduction of criminal liability for violation of legislation in the field of defense, mobilization training and mobilization.
