The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country of Russia stated that the missile attack on Kyiv on December 20 was a “response” to Ukraine’s alleged attack on the chemical plant Kombinat Kamensky in the Rostov region.
The enemy agency claims that “the aim of the strike was achieved” and “all objects were hit.”
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation writes that on December 18, the Armed Forces allegedly attacked the enterprise with six ATACMS ballistic missiles and four Storm Shadow cruise missiles. Ukraine did not officially comment on this information.
On December 18, the Russians said that 10 missiles, including ATACMS, attacked the Rostov region. OSINT-analysts of the CyberBoroshno project reported that missile strikes were made at the production site of FKP Kombinat Kamenskyi in Kamiansk-Shakhtynskyi.
Defense Express reported that the strike on the facility was apparently carried out by ATACMS ballistic missiles and Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles. The use of the latter is evidenced by a video with the debris of one shot down rocket in the area of the city. In particular, the Microturbo TRI 60−30 engine of this rocket was identified.
On December 19, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation recognized the attack on the chemical enterprise Kombinat Kamenskyi. It was also recognized there “damage to the building on the territory of the plant”.
On the night of December 20, the Russians launched several groups of Shahed towards Ukraine, and in the morning they massively attacked Kyiv with rockets. As a result of the attack, fragments of rockets fell in four districts of Kyiv, a man was killed, and ten people were injured.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that air defense shot down five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles that Russian troops launched over Kyiv.
