Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov said that Ukraine is capable of producing several million drones, part of which is financed by the state budget, and other funds come from international partners. He told about this in an interview with TV channel Rada.
Umerov noted that this year the authorities informed the market of their intention to purchase more than a million drones. However, no information has yet been received about the capabilities of Ukrainian manufacturers regarding their production.
“For our part, we did not say how much we can produce. But we can produce several million drones, from which the state budget pays for some things, we receive some funds from partners. That is, our capacity is more than several million drones. And we are able to do it,” he said.
He noted that Ukraine “will not allow the enemy to gain an advantage” next year. According to the Minister of Defense, the production of drones will increase several times this year.
Umerov also talked about the expansion of the missile program.
“We are doing everything to bring our missile program closer to the drone program that exists in our country,” added the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Earlier, Great Britain announced that it would join the drone coalition created by Latvia in support of Ukraine.
The Netherlands then joined the international coalition of drones for Ukraine. The country will also provide our state with advanced drone technology to strengthen its offensive capabilities in the war against the Russian Federation.
