Before the vote, Sukhomlin emphasized that the decision was difficult and had been made for several weeks. He has not yet revealed the reasons for his resignation, but promised to share details later. Sukhomlin also noted that he is not leaving Zhytomyr and plans to continue helping the city.
He said that he planned to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even passed the military medical commission (MMC), but did not receive approval from the General Staff. As a result, he received another offer, because of which he decided to resign.
