The capital’s law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings based on the statement of the Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk about taking over the copyrights to his works.
This information became known during a session of the Ternopil City and District Court, where a motion to postpone the case was considered.
The request for postponement was submitted by the representatives of the defendants, justifying it by the need to appear before the police for investigative actions on January 6.
Criminal proceedings were opened by the Shevchenkiv police department on the fact that the copyrights to works of art belonging to Marchuk were taken over by a group of persons who acted according to a previous conspiracy.
Marchuk’s civil lawsuit against four people, including People’s Deputy Mykhailo Apostol, regarding the invalidation of the license agreement regarding copyrights to his paintings is also being considered.
The court granted the request to return the case to the stage of preparation, which indicates the continuation of legal procedures in this case. The next hearings in both cases provide for further investigative and judicial actions regarding the defense of Marchuk’s copyright.
