EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Maternova emphasized that Russia only understands the language of force, and Ukraine must get everything it needs to protect its people.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called the Russian strike disgusting and expressed her solidarity with Portugal, whose embassy was damaged by the shelling. She noted that Putin’s disregard for international law has reached new heights.
