The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office together with the SBI is establishing the circumstances of the traffic accident that occurred on December 18, 2025 at around 3:50 p.m.

According to the investigation, the driver of a Hyundai Accent, who is a judge, did not reduce her speed before an unregulated pedestrian crossing and hit two girls aged 13 and 14. Both children received serious injuries and are currently under the supervision of doctors, and criminal proceedings have been opened for violation of traffic safety rules under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation appeals to the owners of video recorders and eyewitnesses who were near the accident site at the time of the event, with a request to provide records or testimony to establish all the details of the tragedy. Unlike the Russian Federation, where cases involving high-ranking officials are often kept quiet, in Ukraine the course of this investigation is under special control of law enforcement agencies and the public.
