Ukrainian Stanislav Starostenko, known for the viral meme “You should not argue, you should help Ukraine”, currently serves in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fights as part of an assault unit and openly talks about his service, reminding us that the war continues. The life of a military man is also shared by his wife on social networks. This is known from post Stanislava Starostenko in Threads.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a video of a Ukrainian who simply said the phrase “We should not argue, we should help Ukraine” on Israeli television went viral on social media and became a meme. At the time, these words sounded like an emotional reaction to the war, but for Stanislav Starostenko himself, it turned out to be not just a loud statement, but a position that later turned into real service in the army.

Due to a new wave of interest in the same video, Stanislav decided to tell where he is now and how he lives. He created an account on the Threads social network and reported that he is currently serving in the second assault battalion of the fifth separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “Once the heat is gone, let’s get to know each other. I am Stas, call sign Lawyer. You’ve seen this video somewhere, it’s 2022. Now I will show you here how the army and our unit live now,” he wrote in his post.

The military also appealed to Ukrainians to support his unit and help cover the current needs of the soldiers. According to him, the help of the army is not an abstract slogan, but a daily necessity, on which the effectiveness of the unit’s work at the front directly depends. “I will be grateful for help to cover our current needs,” added Starostenko.

In his new account, he promises to show the everyday life of the military without pathos: what the service looks like today, what difficulties the soldiers face and what they manage to achieve despite the war. Separately, he emphasizes that the war in Ukraine is not over and needs constant attention and support from the rear.

Stanislav’s life in the service is also shared by his wife. In Threads, she posts about military training for her husband’s battalion, talks about life, the people around him, and the invisible part of war that consists of small but important details.
