The head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov told this in a comment to Espresso.

And there are hundreds of thousands of people who do not accept the occupiers and remain faithful to the Ukrainian state. These are Crimean Tatars, ethnic Ukrainians, ”Chubarov said.
According to him, in order to suppress these people, the Russian Federation is repression and persecution against them. There are currently 225 political prisoners, two thirds of them are Crimean Tatars.
“These are our people who are sentenced to long detention, accusing them of terrorism, sabotage, allegedly encroaching on the territorial structure and integrity of Russia. The most unacceptable is that they have turned Crimea into a military base, from where the mainland’s mainland is attacked and drone. While they hold the Crimea, they will use it for constant attacks. Therefore, Crimea should be released, ”the head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people emphasized.
He emphasized that Russian imperial policy has never been hidden for centuries and was to win Crimea, destroy the statehood of Crimean Tatars, to colonize the Crimean peninsula as much as possible and to use it then as a bridgehead for its further aggression.

Earlier, Refat Chubarov stated that from September 2022 from 6 to 8 thousand Crimean Tatars left Crimea to avoid mobilization to the army of the Russian Federation.
