The DBR detained and reported the suspicion of the head of the Military Medical Commission of one of the medical institutions of the State Border Service. He helped the transfer of servicemen from the front to the rear for money.
As reports DBRit is established that the Colonel of the Medical Service offered the border guards who arrived at the VLK, “assistance” in the registration of medical documents. It was a recognition of them limited to military service, the appointment of vacations for health reasons or referral for treatment, even in the absence of appropriate clinical indications.
The cost of such “services” depended on the health of the military and the complexity of making the necessary decision and was from several thousand hryvnias to several thousand US dollars.
Law enforcement officers detained the attacker while receiving another part of the wrongful benefit. During searches, medical records were removed in office premises, which confirms the illegal decisions of the commission regarding specific servicemen.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional episodes of criminal activity and the possible involvement of other members of the VLK are established.
The officer was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code (obtaining an undue benefit by an official). The sanction of the article provides up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the government has allowed to submit copies of medical opinions about children with disabilities up to 18 years, certified by social security, health care, pension fund or notary.
President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that extends the deadline for the Military Medical Commission for restricted citizens of Ukraine until June 5, 2025.
