The Ground Forces of Ukraine stated that the information about violations of the rights of servicemen discovered during inspections in some assault units requires increased attention. At the same time, as emphasized by the command, we are talking about isolated cases, not a systemic phenomenon.
Earlier, the military ombudsman Olga Reshetylova reported that during inspections in a number of assault regiments, facts of massive violations of the rights of military personnel were recorded.
She handed over the materials to law enforcement agencies, as part of what was discovered relates to criminal offenses, including beatings, illegal deprivation of liberty, and threats to the life and health of servicemen and their families.
The Ground Forces emphasized that most commanders and soldiers adhere to service standards and respect their fellow soldiers. All materials handed over to law enforcement officers must receive a legal evaluation in the prescribed manner. The command emphasized that it is important to ensure the protection of every military person and maintain proper service standards.
In Ukraine, the Day of Airborne Assault Troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be celebrated on November 8, instead of the 21st.
