The Cabinet of Ministers has made a number of decisions within the last reorganization of the government. The changes will be liquidated four ministries.

The government has decided to reorganize the Ministry of National Unity, headed by the suspect in corruption, Alexei Chernyshov. The agency will be annexed to the Ministry of Social Policy, creating a new – the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.
Thus, the Ministry of Social Policy will transfer the budgetary allocations provided in 2025 for the Ministry of National Unity, namely:

“Management and Department of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories” in the amount of UAH 83 million on the general fund of the state budget (consumption expenditures) for “management and management in the field of social policy”;

“Ensuring the information sovereignty of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territory, as well as adjacent territories, informing the population about the dangers of explosive objects” in the amount of UAH 56 million on the general fund of the state budget (consumption expenditures) for a new budget program;

“Ensuring the fulfillment of tasks and measures to support Ukrainians abroad and facilitate their return to Ukraine” in the amount UAH 150 million According to the general fund of the state budget, of which consumption expenditures – UAH 142 million, development expenditures – UAH 7 million for a new budget program.
In addition, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources were decided to liquidate. The functions of these departments will be placed on the Ministry of Economy, creating a new – the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Strategic Industry is also eliminated and the Ministry of Defense will also be eliminated.
The new version of the Regulations on the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stipulates that the ministry will be the main body in the system of central executive bodies, which provides formation and implements:

state national security policy in the military sphere, defense and military construction in peacetime and special period;

state industrial policy, state military-industrial policy, state policy in the field of defense-industrial complex, in the airline industry;
-
Ensures the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of space activity.
On July 21, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko held the first meeting of a new composition of the government.
“Each minister has to determine a specific plan of action in the shortest possible time. Without abstractions. These plans will be presented publicly, discussed with the Verkhovna Rada’s profile committees, and then regular reporting. They have to go out at a fast pace, ”Sviridenko said.
