The Government of Ukraine announced the confidentiality of data on the volumes and amounts of gas imports, which are necessary to ensure the heating season.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko emphasized that Ukraine urgently needs to take measures for additional gas imports due to significant losses of domestic production associated with attacks on gas infrastructure. She noted that the planned goal of accumulating 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas has been achieved.
The Prime Minister also promised to provide deputies with more detailed information on the volume of imports. The cost of gas in Europe is now approximately $400 per thousand cubic meters, which makes imports for Ukraine expensive, given that the domestic price is even higher than the European price.
As a result of Russia’s military actions in the fall, up to 60% of domestic gas production capacity was withdrawn. In this regard, the government decided to allocate an additional 8.4 billion hryvnias (about 200 million dollars) to ensure imports in order to reach the required amount of gas in underground storage before the start of the heating season.
We will remind that Ukrainians urged save gas due to Russian attacks.
