The Cabinet of Ministers published a resolution to stabilize prices for medicines. From March 1, drug trading allowance in pharmacies will be differentiated and will depend on the price.
This was reported in the resolution of February 14, 2025 No. 168.
According to the document, from March 1, the trade (retail) supplement in pharmacies should not exceed 35% of the purchase price.
At the same time, the maximum trade (retail) allowance for the purchase price:
- for medicine worth up to 100 UAH – 25%,
- from 100 to 500 UAH – 20%,
- More than 1000 UAH – 10%.
The prescription medicine will be the maximum allowance:
- up to 500 UAH – 25%,
- from 100 to 500 UAH – 20%,
- More than 1000 UAH – 10%.
In addition, marginal supplier allowances will be limited not higher than 8%.
We will remind, since March 1 in Ukraine it is prohibited to provide marketing services, services for promotion of medicinal products, information and other services related to the sale of medicinal products to the end consumer.
In addition, the State Consumer Service will restore checks of pharmacies and drug suppliers.
On February 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), which will be dedicated to reducing the prices for medicines.
Earlier, we wrote that pharmacy retailers responded to President Zelensky’s accusations that there were crazy prices for medicines in Ukraine and signed a declaration on the availability of medicines.
Also in Ukraine the first medicines based on medical cannabis were registered. These are oral drops from the Spanish brand.
