In Ukraine, more than a third of the generation lost during the shelling by the Russians has returned to work. And this is the main factor that makes it possible not to apply restrictions on the provision of energy supply services.
This was announced by Yuriy Boyko, adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, member of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo, at a briefing.
“If we were talking about the damage of about 9 GW of generating capacity, then to date, more than a third of the power plants have managed to return to work. This is the main key factor that allows you to get electricity without interruptions. And this is a factor that allows us to make reasonable forecasts regarding the passage of winter,” Boyko said.
He also added that up to 800 MW of the expected 1 GW from distribution generation can be introduced by the end of the year, and this will be a significant hedge against blackouts in the regions where such generation will start.
“By the end of the year, 600-800 MW of such generation can be introduced. It is neither much nor little. But it will be a local guaranteed energy supply for those who did it,” Boyko noted.
Blackout schedules in Ukraine have not been applied since September 13.
The government expects that in the absence of destruction of energy facilities, we will be able to go through the winter either without restrictions or with minimal restrictions at temperatures up to (-)5 degrees inclusive. There may be a shortage of electricity if the temperature is (-)10 degrees and below for three or more days in a row.
Depending on the temperature, one to three queues can be switched off.
Earlier, we wrote that DTEK energy workers restored electricity to more than 10,000 families in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions that were without electricity due to shelling.
We will also remind you that on the morning of October 31, Russia once again attacked Kyiv with drones. In the Podilsky district of the city, the fall of UAV wreckage was recorded, which damaged the power line.
