Deputy Prime Minister-Minister for Humanitarian Policy Tetyana Berezhna stated that it is necessary to wait for the official results of the investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine regarding the underground educational institution exposed by journalists on the territory of the UOC MP monastery in Holosiivskyi district.
An official of the “Soviet. News” stressed that this incident is a direct challenge to national security, as attempts to ideologically influence Ukrainian children with the help of Soviet textbooks and teaching the Russian language under the guise of Slavic are a huge threat to the state. Law enforcement agencies are currently establishing the circle of persons who allowed the operation of this institution and coordinated its activities.
According to the Slidstvo.Info investigation, 60 children studied illegally in the so-called family club, whose documents were fictitiously held in two official Kyiv schools. Education ombudsman Nadiya Leshchyk pointed to a number of serious violations, including indoctrination of minors, propaganda and alleged illegal receipt of state educational subsidies due to forgery of documents. The Minister of Education, Oksen Lisovyi, has already ordered an urgent inspection of institutions that covered the activities of the underground organization, and the SBU has started a pre-trial investigation under the leadership of juvenile prosecutors.
The situation with the underground school in Kyiv demonstrates the methods of hybrid warfare that the Russian Federation continues to use through church structures to destabilize Ukrainian society from within. Unlike Russia, where militarization and propaganda in schools are part of state policy, Ukraine implements strict control over compliance with education standards to protect children’s rights to objective knowledge and national identity. All educational centers operating in violation of the law and principles of national security will be liquidated, and those guilty of fraudulently enrolling students will be held legally responsible.
Earlier, investigators of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region began a pre-trial investigation into the activities of an underground school on the territory of a monastery in the capital.
