The Government of Ukraine allocated more than 6 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget to strengthen defense capabilities and prevent man-made emergencies.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
In general 6 billion 9 million UAH provided for the construction of protective structures of critical infrastructure facilities, in particular in:
- fuel and energy sector;
- subsectors of railway transport (protection of traction substations with a voltage level of 110–150 kV);
- heat supply, water supply and drainage systems.
In particular, UAH 800 million will be sent to the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure for JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, a UAH 5.2 billion — regional state (military) administrations of 10 regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv.
As Deputy Minister of Economy Vitaliy Kindrativ noted, this decision is part of a systemic policy to strengthen the stability of critical infrastructure and guarantee the continuity of energy supply, transport and utility systems. Implementation of the project will make it possible to strengthen the protection of objects, prevent accidents and ensure the stable functioning of life support systems, as well as contribute to the support of the Armed Forces in the transportation of military cargo.
We will remind that on October 20 in Sumy, starting at 11 o’clock, part of the districts remained without electricity supply.
In the Nizhyn district of the Chernihiv region, an energy facility was hit, as a result of which about three thousand subscribers were left without electricity.
On October 20, Ukraine will have special power outage schedules for industrial consumers.
According to Zaychenko, restoration work is ongoing throughout the country, and energy companies are doing everything possible to stabilize the system before the winter period.
