Ukraine, the US and European partners are gradually moving on security guarantees, despite Moscow’s attempts to disrupt the peaceful process. At the same time, the Kremlin head is not ready to meet.

This was stated by the first deputy head of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Sergey Kyslyts interview for NBC News.

He noted that a meeting at the White House on Monday, where President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European leaders and US President Donald Trump – has become a major event in recent months.

“I really believe that the matter is moving forward, and gradually moves … And this (meeting – ed.) An important achievement in which President Trump played a crucial role,” Kislytsy said.

It should be noted that the day before, the NBC presenter interviewed the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov. In that conversation, a representative of the Russian Federation actually denied the desire of the Kremlin head to meet Zelensky to end the war.

Kyslytsya, in turn, emphasized that attempts to lead the Russian leadership to put into question the legitimacy of Zelensky as the President of Ukraine, as Lavrov said – it is a long -developed propaganda cliché.

“We should not be distracted by what Lavrov says … And I really believe that the United States and the Trump administration have enough levers of influence on Moscow to move this process forward,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said.

Kyslytsya stressed that President Trump and his team, as well as the leadership of Ukraine – have enough levers of influence on Moscow to move this process forward. At the same time, he warned that Moscow consciously delayed the negotiation process.

According to him, the Russian Federation continues to manipulate the US and personally Trump. However, he believes that the United States administrations gradually understands that the Russian Federation is manipulating.

In addition, he added that he sees “no signs that Putin is ready for meaningful negotiations and for the meeting – both bilateral and trilateral.”

The official also said that the issue of safety guarantees for Ukraine takes time to prepare the agreed project, which specialists are currently working on. The first version of the document may be ready early next week.

At the same time, Kyslytsa rejected the possibility of participation of the Russian Federation in solving Ukrainian security issues.

“Russia must fulfill its part of the agreement, namely to work in a spirit of cooperation with the United States and European partners of Ukraine, which will agree on security guarantees … Security guarantees are not intended for any malicious actions of the aggressor in the future,” – said First Deputy Minister.

Recall that US President Donald Trump stressed that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin still demands the exit of Ukraine from Donbass.

Trump and Putin also considered the increase in the status of representatives in the negotiations.
