Putin wants to weaken Ukraine, so there is a constant new demand for a peace agreement. However, Kyiv will never accept anything that will make the country defenseless.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga.
“Russian requirements and ultimatums have remained unchanged for many years. The Russian Federation wants to limit the Ukrainian army, defense, military assistance from partners and block Ukraine’s accession to NATO, ”Sibiga said.
According to the minister, the rhetoric of the Russian Federation reveals her true intentions. All these requirements have one thing in common: Moscow wants to have a weak, defenseless Ukraine.
However, the Foreign Minister is convinced that it is not only about NATO and not about “safety anxiety”. In fact, the intentions of the Russian Federation are more visionary.
“It is about Russia’s ability to destroy the Ukrainian state at a later stage, occupy its territory, seize its minerals, use its human and other potential for further aggression. There should be no illusions about this, ”the minister emphasized.
He noted that Moscow’s rhetoric has intensified to 2022. The Russian Federation tries to take advantage of the current geopolitical moment when the United States seeks to settle the war in Ukraine as soon as possible.
“We see this Russian strategy and never accept anything that makes Ukraine weak or defenseless. Instead, a real and just peace requires strong and long -term security guarantees for its preservation, ”Sibiga emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that in negotiations on a possible peace agreement, Ukraine has “red lines”, including the impossibility of transferring Russian and civilians, and international security guarantees.
Meanwhile, the assistant of the Russian dictator Yuri Ushakov stated that the call to a truce in Ukraine in the Kremlin is perceived as “an attempt to give the Armed Forces time for re -equipment.” Russia has already transferred its “signal” of the United States.
