Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that the explosion in the Shevchenkiv district, which led to the death of a person, had a domestic nature and was not related to shelling.
He told journalists about this, reports the correspondent of Ukrinform.
“It (the explosion – ed.) is not related to the ‘arrival’. We also watched video from CCTV cameras. It was a domestic explosion – the car exploded. One person died, two people were injured. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing,” said Terekhov.

According to his information, the wounded are in a medium serious condition.
Garages, nearby houses, and a penitentiary system were damaged.
The Kharkiv City Council later reported that the number of victims had increased to three, and information about two missing people was being checked.
“As reported in the Department of Emergency Situations, as of 5:30 p.m. search and rescue operations are ongoing, information on two missing persons is being checked. Three victims are already known, one of whom was rescued by the State Emergency Service,” the post reads.
