On September 29, the European Commission completed the screening process of Ukrainian legislation, which happened faster than ever earlier in the history of EU expansion.
This was stated by the European Commissioner for the Extension of Marta Kos during a visit to Ukraine, which she symbolically started in Transcarpathiawrites “Ukrinform”.

Work scale: According to Kos, as part of the screening process, the experts of the European Commission have studied 100 thousand pages Ukrainian legislation and compared it with the relevant EU laws.

Terms: “We have done this process less than one year. It’s faster than it happened ever before, ”the European Commissar emphasized.
Martha Kos added that now the European Commission understands how to move on to Ukraine’s European integration, and plans to discuss this issue with Ukrainian officials during her visit to Kiev.
Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation and the European Commission completed screening meetings in Brussels under the negotiation section 11 “Agriculture and development of rural areas”. Within three days, Ukraine presented 28 thematic blocks, demonstrating progress in approaching its legislation to EU standards.
Ukraine has also completed screening of three talking clusters as part of negotiations on joining the European Union. It is a cluster 1 “Fundamentals”, cluster 2 “Inner market” and cluster 6 “External relations”.
Ukraine also completed the official screening of compliance with EU legislation within the negotiation section “Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy”.
