The minister said that the key load in the heating season will carry atomic generation, which at peak moments generated up to 60% of all electricity. Planned repairs of NPPs planned so that during the winter all nine blocks that are in the control of Ukraine worked in full warehouse.
Galushchenko recalled that thermal generation was largely damaged by Russian attacks last year. But the repair campaign is ongoing, and a large part of the 10 GW destroyed is restored.

At the end of May, the Cabinet created a headquarters for preparation for the heating season of 2025/2026. He will be headed by Vice Prime Minister for Recovery-Minister of Community and Territories Alexei Kuleb.
In addition, in June, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a set of measures for preparation for the heating season. It is about repairs, creation of fuel reserves, preparation of buildings, hospitals.
