Prosecutors of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office documented the facts of the abuse of representatives of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with prisoners of war during interrogations.

As it is noted, in August 2025, near the village of Myrolyubivka of the Grodivka village community, the occupiers were captured by a Ukrainian serviceman and taken it to the basement of a seized house. There were still seven defenders of Ukraine on their knees with tied hands.
“During the interrogations, the Russian military tortured prisoners – they inflicted grievous bodily harm, cut off parts of the body. The victim of the Ukrainian defender was cut by the throat. After that, the bodies of the prisoners were thrown into the pit and covered with debris, believing that they had died, ”the prosecutor’s office reported.
However, one of the prisoners of war survived and with a cut throat for five days reached Ukrainian positions.
“On the fact of the commission of a war crime, a pre -trial investigation under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder”). Prosecutors questioned the victim, the establishment of all the military personnel involved in this crime continues, ”the prosecutor’s office added.
The SBU, together with intelligence and police, identified the persons of two invaders who are involved in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Investigators of the National Police reported suspicion of another 22 Kalinin Correctional Colony staff in Donetsk region, who in 2014 moved to the side of the Russian invaders and participated in the torture of prisoners of war and civilians.
