Currently, 11 examinations, including engineering, military, forensic, computer-technical (analysis of the onboard, and commodity studies, are ongoing within the framework of criminal proceedings.
As noted in the DBR, the final conclusions about the causes of the disaster and possible responsibility of officials can only be made after the examination and analysis of all the evidence collected.
It should be reminded that the F-16 fighter catastrophe, in which Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Mes was killed, occurred on August 26, 2024 during the destruction of Russian winged missiles.
The air command of the Air Force West of Ukraine specified that during a reflection of the Russian rocket attack, the F-16 pilot, the air forces pilot of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Mesh with the call sign Munfish. He managed to destroy three winged rockets and one shock UAV.
