In this scheme, they were assisted by another official of the unit – the assistant chief of the staff.
As a result of such actions, the state was damaged for almost UAH 8 million in three months.
The head of the staff and his brother were informed of the suspicion of abuse of office and official forgery. They face up to 6 years in prison for these crimes.
Materials regarding the third person involved, assistant chief of the staff, is allocated to separate proceedings, and the investigation into him is ongoing. In order to compensate for the damage caused to the state, an appropriate civil claim has been filed.
