The National Bank of Ukraine raised the official exchange rate of the dollar and euro by 17-20 kopecks. Ukrainians will feel a slight increase in the price of the currency both at the interbank and in exchange offices on the eve of the holidays. This is evidenced by the data on the website regulator.
The official exchange rate of the dollar on December 31, 2025 is set at 42.3878 hryvnias per dollar, which is 17 kopecks more than the day before. The euro rate rose by 20 kopecks and is 49.8565 hryvnias per euro.
On December 29, the exchange rate of the dollar rose to 42.28–42.31 hryvnias (buying and selling), and the euro to 49.83–49.85 hryvnias. In currency exchangers, the average selling rate of the dollar increased by 12 kopecks and is 42.56 hryvnias, while euros are sold at 50.17 hryvnias, which is 15 kopecks more. The average purchase rates of the dollar and euro are 42.01 and 49.5 hryvnias, respectively.
Experts note that a small increase in exchange rates before the holidays is a common phenomenon due to the increased demand for cash currency and the end of the year. “People are buying dollars and euros ahead of the holidays, so a small increase in currency prices is expected,” financial analysts comment.
