The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office sent an indictment to the court against six people, including two former deputies of the Odesa Regional Council, who organized a criminal scheme to seize 32 vessels of Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company PrJSC.

This is reported by SAP Facebook

This scheme led to the assignment of damages in the amount of 82 million hryvnias. It was established that in 2017 the deputies planned to use the company’s lanterns to create larger barges for their companies.

As a result of criminal activities, 32 lanterns were transferred to Turkey, where they were converted into 12 barges. After returning to Ukraine, these barges were arrested with the assistance of the SAP and NABU and handed over to the National Agency for Search and Asset Management. Four suspects are currently wanted, and the pre-trial investigation continues for all participants in the case.
