On March 25, 2025, at 8:00 am, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv will announce its decision on a preventive measure for Yevgeny Yakhni, a member of the Gambling Regulation Commission and Lottery (Kilil).
The trial has gained an unexpected turn when Yakhnius and his lawyers presented the court with the stamp “Secret”. According to the accused, this letter allegedly refutes the accusations of the links of LLC “UKR GIM Technologi”, the owner of the PIN-UP brand in Ukraine, with the Russian Federation.
However, due to the secrecy of the document, the prosecutor in the case was not able to get acquainted with its content, which raised a number of questions about the validity of such a step of protection.
Experts and the public express doubts about the lawfulness of using a classified document as evidence in court, especially given the fact that the prosecution party was not able to get acquainted with it.
In addition, the question arises as to whether Yakhni and his lawyers had the right to distribute a document with the stamp “secret”.
Recall that Yevgeny Yakhni is under investigation in the case of possible promotion of activity in Ukraine online casino with Russian roots. Law enforcement officers are actively collecting information about the suspect’s financial transactions, including bank accounts and transactions.
This court session is part of a broader investigation into PIN-UPA in Ukraine. Earlier, the court had already made a decision on a pre-trial detention for Igor Zotyk, the owner of PIN-Up, until May 22, 2025.
The investigation suggests that the company could be related to Russian citizens, and some of the profits could come abroad
