In the Poltava region, a man was sentenced to imprisonment for evasion of mobilization during martial law. The accused pleaded guilty, but found reasons that did not appear in the shopping center on the summons.
This is stated in the sentence of the Dykansky district court of Poltava region.
According to the case file, the accused has a minor child. He was also previously held accountable under Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, storage, purchase, transportation or transfer of narcotic drugs).
In November, the defendant passed the Military Medical Commission, which found him suitable for military service. After that, he received a combat summons, according to which November 15, 2024 he had to come to the military unit for service. However, on the specified date and time, the person did not appear in the military unit.
During the court hearing, the man said that he did not appear to the military unit, because that day he had to take his son from a hospital in Poltava. He also added that his son and wife now draw up documents for disability, but it takes time. According to the man, his child needs care, and he is the only breadwinner in the family.
Despite the arguments of the man, the court found him guilty of evasion of mobilization and imposed a punishment in the form of three years of imprisonment. In addition, the defendant was added to the period of the unbearable part of the previous sentence, so the accused will be prison for 1 month more.
