According to the decision, the suspect must appear at every summons to the investigator or court, hand over his foreign passport for safekeeping and refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case. In addition, Kudrytskyi was set bail in the amount of seven million hryvnias, which he must pay in order to remain free during the investigation.
The exhibitor is suspected of abuse of official position and illegal appropriation of state company funds in particularly large amounts. The materials of the proceedings relate to the financial operations of NEC “Ukrenergo”, which, according to the investigation, caused significant losses to the state budget during the energy crisis. Although the defense insisted on the full cancellation of the preventive measure, the judge decided to maintain procedural restrictions to ensure the proper behavior of the person involved and prevent him from going abroad.
The easing of detention conditions is taking place against the background of ongoing anti-corruption investigations in the energy sector, which also include other former top managers of strategic enterprises. Kudrytskyi denies his guilt and calls the case politically motivated, while the law enforcement officers continue to collect the evidence base for the transfer of the indictment to the court. The further fate of the preventive measure will depend on the suspect’s compliance with the established rules and the efficiency of investigative actions in the case of theft of Ukrenergo property.
