The Kharkiv Court of Appeal was left in custody of the expenser of mayor Andrei Rudenko, suspected in seizure of UAH 5.4 million of budget funds on the construction of fortifications.

The Judicial College considered the petition Rudenko’s lawyers on the cancellation of the decision of the Kyiv District Court to detention , and Appointment to him The “feasible” pledge in 5.4 million UAH. Defense also stated that suspicion was considered unjustified. The prosecution was denied.

Prosecutor Artem Glievoy told the court that the suspect could press on witnesses, which the investigation already has shows.

The Court of Appeal left Rudenko in custody without determining the bail. The decision is not subject to appeal.

Earlier, five persons, including the former deputy mayor of Kharkiv, reported suspicion of seizure of UAH 5.4 million of budget funds allocated for the construction of fortifications by overestimating prices for materials. The court chose a preventive measure – detention for two months without bail.
