The Sixth Court of Appeal of Kyiv has decided to postpone the hearing in the case of termination of activity of the Kyiv Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate until December 11.

As the lawyer of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC, Archpriest Mykyta Chekman, told, in the court the representatives of the UOC MP demanded that the State Government provide all the documents that became the basis for conducting investigations and issuing orders to terminate the activities of the Metropolis.
In addition, the lawyer reported on more than a thousand statements from believers who asked to be included in the case as third parties. Another three hundred such applications are in the metropolitan office.
The court granted the request of the defense to request all documents. At the same time, the issue of the involvement of believers, as well as diocesan administrations and monasteries in the case, will be considered at the next court session, which is to be held on December 11, 2025.
Earlier, the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience filed a lawsuit in court to terminate the activities of the Kyiv Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Before that, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) made a decision to recognize the Kyiv Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) as affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church.
