A regular meeting in the case of murder of the famous linguistics and public figure Irina Farion was supposed to take place in Lviv on April 29.
It was on this day that she could celebrate her birthday. However, the hearing in the Shevchenkivsky District Court was postponed due to the poor well -being of the suspect – Vyacheslav Zinchenko. His defender Yuri Nemirovsky appealed to the judge for a postponement of the consideration, referring to the cold from the client.
The medical certificate was not provided, so the court announced a break until May 1, the next meeting was scheduled at 12:30.
Zinchenko was taken to court under the intensified guard of the National Guard, he was in a bulletproof vest and helmet. The daughter of Irina Farion was also present in the courtroom – Sofia supported by Lviv residents.
The support of the suspect was expressed by a separate group of people who shouted: “Zinchenko – will.”
Vyacheslav Zinchenko is accused of deliberately murder of a public figure on reasons of national intolerance, as well as illegally handling weapons. According to the investigation, on July 19, 2024 in Lviv on Masaryk Street, the striker shot in Farion, after which he fled.
The woman died in hospital. Already on July 25, the probable suspect was detained in the Dnieper. The next day, the court chose him a preventive measure – detention without the right of bail.
After changing the qualification of the crime in December 2024, Zinchenko is charged with premeditated murder related to the performance of the victim of public duty, on the grounds of national intolerance, as well as unlawful handling of weapons.
He is threatened with life imprisonment.
During the previous meetings, the court considered the evidence, including video from the crime scene, the banking transactions of the suspect, and the testimony of a secret witness.
The case also includes a video where the responsibility of the neo -Nazi movement has taken over the responsibility for the murder, but not established the suspect in this organization.

We also reported that the daughter of linguistics Irina Farion Sofia (Semchyshyn) stated that her mother wanted to kill on July 17, 2024, that is, the day before the murder. As proof, she showed video from CCTV cameras.
